Tea MÄKIPÄÄ

Born in Finland in 1973; lives and works in Finland and Germany
Mäkipää creates works that interrogate the relationship between humans and their environment all over the world. Her large-scale installations are mostly produced outdoors, on shorelines and open land. In recent years, she has developed “Business Hotspot,”(Cape Le Grand National Park, Australia, 2014) based on the theme of network infrastructure. She was an artist-in-residence of the ARCUS Project in in Ibaraki Prefecture (2006). For KENPOKU ART 2016, she will create a large-scale outdoor project based on research on the social environment of northern Ibaraki Prefecture.
