HIBINO HOSPITAL (Hibino Art Seminar Hospital Broadcasting Club) 2016
HIBINO HOSPITAL (Hibino Art Seminar Hospital Broadcasting Club)
As a part of the ongoing project HIBINO HOSPITAL (Hibino Art Seminar Hospital Broadcasting Club), Katsuhiko Hibino will propose a KENPOKU edition for the festival. In Ibaraki in 1999, when internet started to become widely available, Hibino initiated the group, establishing a website and holding monthly “offline parties” (face-to-face workshops). In this collective, students of Tokyo University of the Arts involve in various activities as “attending doctors,” and engage in dialogue and art making with the public. For KENPOKU ART 2016, their workshop will take place at a classroom of the former elementary school. In the abandoned space, 20 students of Tokyo University of the Arts invites the public to participate in discussion around the question, “what should be here?” in regard to the school’s history and the region’s characteristics. After, the students and the public will collaborate in making art using carbon box.
