Hiwatashi no Sato Project 40 people of creators and produced 40 sheets of poster – depicts the lives of satoyama villagers
The land around the former Uwaoka elementary school, where rice, apples and konnyaku are cultivated and harvested, has longer sunshine duration than the rest of rural Daigo-town, therefore the area has been known as Hiwatari no sato (Village of passing sun) for a long time. The lives of the community where the residents are determined to preserve the former Uwaoka elementary school have been observed by forty creators of IDPC. With the help of the local community, they have created posters that reveal the side of community which is personal, warm and gentle. The posters will be displayed in the classrooms of the elementary school. We hope the smiles of satoyama villagers will communicate that happiness is the measure of true wealth.
