HITACHI Denrin-Tower 2016
The CRT Televisions embedded in the pagoda emit light flicking to a certain rhythm. At a close distance, a radio catches the electromagnetic waves from TV tubes and produces sound in synchrony with the flicking light of the televisions. A variety of sounds can be made by changing distance from the tower and by adjusting tuning dials. At the top of the TV tower, Hitachi’s color TV is worshipped. Ei Wada’s new electronic instrument embodies a spirit of creative design and manufacturing in the industrial city of Hitachi.
