The Post Gallery

The artwork’s title borrows from the large room that was previously used as an exhibition room. Ishida has created an animation, drawing on the concrete walls with chalk and water, following and observing the light shining into the room and filming the whole process. This approach, which focuses on the process of drawing itself, and ultimately transforms footage of the process into a spatial installation, is one that combines drawing, animation and space, and that is distinctively Ishida’s. The animation, which is highly conscious of light and shadow, is projected in the room where traces of drawing are still visible. Take some time to appreciate the artwork – you will be immersed in its meditative atmosphere, and experience the sensation of being drawn into the video itself.
